West Ham chief Duxbury explains sale of duo to Fulham

West Ham United chief Scott Duxbury admits competition for places led to the sales of Bobby Zamora and John Pantsil to Fulham.

He told whufc.com: "In view of the competition for places at the club and a lack of first-team opportunities likely in the new season, we recognised both players' wish for regular football. Bobby Zamora played a significant part in the club securing promotion back in 2004/05 and his form and goals particularly in that Championship season will not be forgotten. I am sure both he and John Pantsil will be warmly welcomed whenever they return to the Boleyn Ground in the years to come."
