West Ham chief Brady excited by London Olympic stadium potential

West Ham United vice-chairman Karren Brady is convinced the London Olympic Stadium will be ideal for the club.

In her diary for The Sun, Karren wrote: "Nothing could have prepared me for my first visit to the 2012 London Olympics site. It is inspiring, a perfect fit for a magnificent Games.

"I leave even more convinced that West Ham are ideal as future occupiers, along with athletics and possibly Essex Cricket Club. From the football club's point of view, we'd need a bigger roof, wider seats bringing the capacity to about 50,000 and a number of executive boxes.

"Finance for alterations would come from proceeds of the sale of Upton Park and money earmarked for shrinking the stadium. And, yes, I've even more convinced about the running track. The sighting distance from the stands to the pitch is no further than at Wembley or the Emirates and our idea would be to turf it during the season."
