West Ham United are chasing Southampton striker Ricki Lambert.

The Daily Star says the Hammers had an approach for the Southampton striker, 31, turned down in January.

But Upton Park boss Sam Allardyce is ready to try his luck again.

Allardyce wrapped up a £16m club record deal for Andy Carroll last month and has made landing a second striker his main priority.
