West Ham United face being priced out of a deal for QPR striker Jamie Mackie.
The People says Hammers boss Avram Grant will have money for a couple of budget captures in January.
Mackie, 25, is on their wishlist but is priced too high at more than £3m.
Everton boss David Moyes is also keen on the Scotland international.
