West Ham United has taken a surprising lead in the race to sign attacker Henry Onyekuru from Belgian club KAS Eupen, according to Sky Sports.
The Nigeria international will fly to England on June 12 to meet with prospective clubs.
It had been reported that Arsenal were close to securing the 19-year old, with a work permit supposedly holding up the transfer.
However, the report suggests the Hammers may beat their London rivals to Onyekuru's signature.
Onyekuru was the joint top goal scorer in the Jupiler League last season with 25 goals.
