Marseille winger Dimitri Payet's move to West Ham United seems to be hanging in the balance.

The France international was believed to be on his way to London for a medical after a £10.7million deal was agreed earlier on Wednesday.

But recent quotes from the player's agent suggest that Payet could still sign an extension with the Ligue 1 club.

Jacques-Olivier Auguste told Eurosport: "The deal is not 100 per cent done but it is basically there. Marseille can still make things happen."

Speaking to another outlet, La Provence, he added: "Nothing is done. Whatever happens will happen very quickly in either direction.

"We are still trying to find a solution for Payet to stay at Marseille. As long as there is still hope of that happening, we will pursue that as much as we can."
