West Ham United boss Gianfranco Zola admits his controversial break in Sardinia lifted him for their relegation battle.
Since the three-day holiday, West Ham have taken four points from their last two games.
"The support that I had in those days was incredible. I am a human being like everybody. In those moments we need help and it has been good," said Zola.
"To go out, clear the mind and come back with more motivation and strength. It has worked out for the moment.
"That is the crazy thing about the job, the situations change quite rapidly. I don't think that many people were giving us credit to get a point at Everton and now after these two matches we are in a better position.
"That is football. We never lost faith in ourselves."
