West Ham boss Zola stands by Di Michele

West Ham United boss Gianfranco Zola is standing by on-loan Torino forward Davide di Michele.

For the defeat to Liverpool, the Mirror says some Irons fans showed what they thought of Di Michele by booing his every heavy touch - then cheered when he was subbed.

But Hammers boss Zola defended his fellow Italian Di Michele.

"What can I say?" he said. "David Di Michele is one of our key players.

"Maybe he doesn't score many goals but he makes the team play very well."
