West Ham United boss Gianfranco Zola says a big pay-hike is awaiting new signing Mido if he can prove his worth.
The striker has signed for Hammers until the end of the season on a contract worth just £1,000 a week.
Zola said: "His wages tell you a lot. He is determined to succeed and is not money-driven. I never bother too much about how much the players earn.
"I judge them on the pitch. Hopefully next season he'll earn £20,000 a week because that means he has done well."
Chubby Mido was kicked out by Spurs but Zola added: "He doesn't look fat.
"He's not played much so he's not at his best. He has to prove himself."
