West Ham United boss Gianfranco Zola is keen to start working with former Blackburn Rovers striker Benni McCarthy.
The Hammers endured a frustrating afternoon in front of goal for yesterday's 0-0 draw with Rovers.
Zola hopes the imminent arrival of South Africa international McCarthy can solve that.
"It looks like it is done and next week he should be coming to train with us," the Hammers boss said. "I do not know the terms yet, but they have told me the deal is done.
"He should be available for the next game.
"Benni will be a threat in the last third.
"He is a player who can score goals and he will be a very good help for us."
