West Ham boss Zola: I am better manager for season dramas

West Ham United boss Gianfranco Zola has no doubts this season's dramas will make him a better manager.

The Hammers, who entered the weekend four points clear of danger, have four matches remaining starting with Monday's trip to Liverpool to stay in the top flight.

Off the pitch Zola has had to contend with a perilous financial position that resulted in a change of owner and persistent questions over his own future.

But the Italian is still standing and refuses to discuss his future until the season is over.

"Without a doubt I'll be a better manager because of everything that's happened," he said.

"I'm not joking when I say this year is worth five years in terms of coaching experience. I will be making the most of it, that's for sure.

"I have an idea about the future but there's no point in me talking about anything right now.

"Instead, it's important that we deal with the situation now and talk about the future later. Now's not the time for talking."
