West Ham United boss Gianfranco Zola is confident keeping hold of defender Lucas Neill. Newcastle manager Joe Kinnear this week revealed he had been talking to Hammers skipper Neill's agent.

Zola was less than impressed as no permission had been given nor any offers received from the Magpies.

The Italian added: "This is something I'd never do. I stick to my philosophy. I have respect for all managers and I would expect them to behave the same way.

"Lucas is committed and is happy to stay here."
