West Ham boss Zola calm over financial situation

West Ham United boss Gianfranco Zola insists he has no reason to be concerned over the club's future - despite Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson financial problems.

"I am quite confident - I just trust the people here," Zola said. "I have been here seven months and everything they have told me has been respected. I have faith in them. They told me the club won't have any problems and I believe them. I am not worried about it.

"And the people dealing with me - I am talking about Scott Duxbury - he believes in what we're doing and will make sure that part of the club is taken care of."

West Ham host Liverpool tomorrow evening as they continue their bid to finish seventh and gain entry to the new Europa League next season.

And Zola said this will directly impact on the amount of money he has to spend in the transfer market this summer.

"Next year all depends on how we finish this year," he said. "If we finish in the top seven then we have a plan and we have a different plan if we don't."
