West Ham United boss Gianfranco Zola admits he flirted with the idea of the long-ball when they were battling against relegation last season.
"One of the most important things for me over this year has been to stick to my beliefs and my idea of the way football should be played," he told the London Evening Standard.
"I went through difficult moments at times and when that happens it's easy to change your philosophy and do something different to earn some valuable points.
"There was a moment, when the situation wasn't great, that I thought about it but I kept my feet on the ground, kept working on the things I believed in and eventually the results came."
