West Ham United manager Avram Grant is remaining positive about his side's chances of avoiding relegation this season.
The Hammers stayed at the foot of the Premier League table after a 1-0 loss to Sunderland on Sunday which was their 16th match on the road without a win.
But Grant insists he has the squad to stay in the top flight even though they have taken just 12 points from 16 matches.
"We were better in the second half. We started the game not so good. We had chances to score so we're disappointed," Grant said.
"We are playing away at Sunderland and we had chances in the second half. They had possession and they scored.
"It's fair to say that we need to improve, the gap is not too big, we came here and got a one-goal loss.
"I think we have a very good squad to stay up. We showed that in our last two games."
