West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini has revealed he tried to sign Chileans for Manchester City.

Pellegrini has revealed he attempted to sign fellow Chileans Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal when he was City boss.

But FFP restrictions prevented him from doing so.

He said, “It's true that I tried to sign Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal while at Manchester City, but at that time City was punished by Financial Fair Play and it was impossible."

Alexis is now with Manchester United, while Vidal is playing for Bayern Munich.
