West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini says that winning away to Everton is the best birthday present he could have hoped to receive.
The Hammers were coming off the back of a four game losing streak, having failed to secure a single point in the Premier League.
But they took the game to Everton at Goodison Park and emerged with a 3-1 win, thanks to a double from Andriy Yarmolenko and a Marko Arnautovic strike.
"I was not worried about my birthday today - I just wanted to win the game - it was the best gift my players could give me," Pellegrini said to the Evening Standard after the game.
"We believe in what we are doing and we are not going to change. I said last time after we lost I will accept advice but I was not going to change what we are doing."
