West Ham United boss Avram Grant has told Carlton Cole to follow the lead of Sunderland striker Darren Bent.
Cole was baffled by the tactics employed in the 3-0 defeat at Anfield - but showed the talent that made him a target for Liverpool earlier this season when he scored twice in the 4-0 Carling Cup demolition of Manchester United last Tuesday.
Ahead of the clash at the Stadium of Light, Grant declared: "Darren Bent is an example to everybody.
"The players need to know that if they don't have the right attitude, they will not succeed.
"Every player has difficult times. Every player has good times.
"When they have good times, they think they are a genius and they think they know everything about football.
"But it is not like this and you need the right attitude. I say to the players: 'You don't have enough talent to live on talent alone.' You need talent and you need attitude.
"Bent is a good example of that."
