West Ham United boss Avram Grant has no problem selecting players who are coming out of contract.
Grant is set to include Matthew Upson, Jonathan Spector, Danny Gabbidon and Lars Jacobson - whose current deals all expire at the end of the season - in his starting line-up at Manchester City tomorrow.
The Israeli said: "If you are professional by condition, it doesn't matter if you have a contract, don't have a contract, if your wife smiles at you, if the owners say nice things about you... I don't believe in these things.
"It doesn't matter as long as a player is professional by heart.
"Also, when a player is in the last days of his contract he wants to prove himself because he wants a new contract."
