West Ham United boss Alan Curbishley is determined to bring Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe back to Upton Park.
The Mirror says Curbishley has made an inquiry for Defoe even though he is still unpopular among West Ham fans for quitting the club three years ago. But Curbishley rates the England striker as one of the best finishers in the country and is desperate to strengthen his forward line.
Curbishley has big money to spend but has already been told by Everton that Andy Johnson is not for sale. That has prompted the moves for Defoe and Liverpool striker Craig Bellamy.
