West Ham boss Alan Curbishley says Alan Shearer should declare his interest in the Newcastle United job.

The former striker's silence is making it difficult for the club to find a successor to Sam Allardyce, claims Curbishley.

The Hammers boss said: "His shadow falls all over the club. If Shearer doesn't want the job, he should say and let Newcastle get on with the job of finding a new man."
