West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic is delighted with the way Dimitri Payet has kicked off his Premier League career.

Bilic can't fathom questions about Payet's temperament.

"If the teams were analysing us before they'd try to mark Dimitri anyway," he said. "I'm not comparing him to Messi, Ronaldo or David Silva but he can do it. Dimitri is playing in a position where you have to close him down.

"He's going to continue to play like this. We're trying to make the situation easier for him.

"Marseille is a really big club. He had key responsibility. He's not settled completely but he's such a class player. It doesn't surprise me."
