West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce has warned Jack Wilshere he risks his World Cup place at Arsenal. Allardyce has warned Wilshere, tipped to be the next England captain, to concentrate on getting back in his club side before worrying about England.
"With the amount of competition that Arsenal have in that position that's going to be more of a concern for Jack to play in Arsenal's team on a regular basis than thinking about the World Cup for England," he said.
"I think if he does that he will be there. Jack Wilshere has got that final pass, the little bit of creativity, that ability to break down a defence all day long. I think he has shown that, certainly prior to the injury that he had.
"Unfortunately, because of the long-term state of that injury, he may still be feeling the effects of that and not be quite where he wants to be at the moment."
