West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce remains keen on Manchester United winger Ashley Young.
The Daily Star Sunday says Allardyce enquired about the England international, 29, in the summer and is keen to revive a deal in January.
His priority is to strengthen his defence with doubts still existing over Winston Reid's future but Allardyce admires the fact Young can play in a number of positions.
The ex-Aston Villa star has forced his way back into United's team following injury to Luke Shaw but knows it will be difficult to hold down a regular starting place.
