West Ham boss Allardyce warns Nolan not to let standards drop

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce has warned skipper Kevin Nolan not to relax.

Allardyce intends to drive Nolan to keep up his current form in the remaining ten games of the season.

He said: "I just hope he keeps it up. Kevin's got to continue to strive to reach the levels he has hit recently and go beyond it and not think, 'Well, I've shown what I can do.'

"He had the determination and the desire to come back and prove what a good player he is. He's bounced back brilliantly and scored five goals in five games, but he has to continue that now.

"He can't afford to - like anyone else - let that level of performance diminish in any way.

"That is obviously something I talk to the squad about all the time. They can't ease off and they've always got to hit the top performance you can give on a consistent basis at this level of football.

"That's what I want to see him do. I want to see continue bouncing back from what was a difficult period for us all."
