West Ham boss Sam Allardyce will be charged by the Football Association for the remarks he made in the wake of the Hammers 1-0 defeat to Manchester United on Wednesday, reports the Daily Mail. Sportsmail understands that Allardyce is likely to face a charge as the FA investigate comments he made about referee Phil Dowd.
Allardyce alleged that Dowd favoured Manchester United as he failed to award West Ham a penalty but then awarded one at the other end moments later for a similar incident in the FA Cup third-round replay.
