West Ham boss Allardyce tribute to Chelsea star Lampard

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce paid tribute to Chelsea star Frank Lampard after yesterday's defeat.

Allardyce could not hide his admiration for the man who had just destroyed his team.

He said: "Massive credit to Frank for getting to 200 goals. He's the ghost in the box that nobody seems to see. He doesn't get into the box as much as he used to but when he does, boy, is he effective.

"But you also have to look at the quality of the pass from Eden Hazard. It was a precise chip at just the right weight.

"You admire the quality of the ball and the quality of the header."
