West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce feels Tottenham have been weakened by the sale of Luka Modric to Tottenham.

Allardyce reckons rivals Spurs were a bigger threat with Modric playing under old boss Harry Redknapp.

When asked whether Tottenham are as dangerous as last season, Big Sam said: “They’re without Luka Modric, who is a top-quality midfield player.

“And I used to listen to Harry talking about Luka Modric as one of the top midfield players in the world today.

“So when you take a loss like that then that is then difficult to replace.”
