West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce never held a grudge against Everton over their swoop for Lacina Traore.
The AS Monaco striker rejected West Ham to join Everton on-loan, but now faces hamstring surgery.
"People can pinch players off you all the time," said Allardyce. "In the end it was a Monaco decision as well as the player's decision.
"I thought they could have been a bit kinder to us after the huge process we went through to secure their player.
"But the upside of that is that we went out and got (Marco) Borriello, (Antonio) Nocerino and (Pablo) Armero."
