West Ham boss Allardyce: Mourinho frustrated Chelsea failed against smaller clubs

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce says Jose Mourinho will be gutted by Chelsea's failure against lesser teams in their title chase.

Mourinho labelled West Ham's approach as "football from the 19th-century" following a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge in January, with Chelsea also dropping points at Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.

"When you play against a big club and get a result, opposing managers have to find an excuse for being beaten by a team that has got fewer resources than them," said Allardyce.

"He was just a frustrated man who we were able to get a point against in the end.

"Since then he has lost his own home record to Sunderland which he will be very disappointed about because really at the end of the day Chelsea in terms of winning the Premier League would have been nearly already clinched had they not drawn with us, lost to Sunderland, lost to Crystal Palace and lost to Aston Villa.

"I don't know Jose that well, but I know what he is like and he will have been kicking himself that he has not won the Premier League on those results."
