West Ham boss Allardyce impressed by Valencia striker Jonas on Spain scouting check

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce was in Madrid on Sunday for a scouting mission.

The Daily Mail says Allardyce was in Spain to watch Atletico Madrid against Valencia.

Allardyce left the stands at Vicente Calderon after 45 minutes with the latest player brought to his attention being Valencia's Jonas.

The Brazilian attracted serious interest from Tottenham last season.
