West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce says he's prepared to take this week's flak on the chin.
Big Sam wrote in the London Evening Standard: "I knew there would be heavy flak coming my way after we lost 1-0 at Crystal Palace.
"That's the way of the football world these days; Chris Hughton one week, Martin Jol the next - now it's my turn. It wasn't that long ago the knives were out for Alan Pardew and look where Newcastle are now.
"That's not to say I wasn't very disappointed by the defeat - that would be putting it mildly. Three points in that game and two successive wins for the first time since we returned to the Premier League, would have put us in mid-table rather than in the vulnerable position we find ourselves.
"There's little you can do about the criticism, except take it on the chin and continue to work the squad through this period and towards an upturn in results."
