West Ham boss Allardyce: I can handle stick coming my way

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce knows his job is on the line after their 6-0 Capital One Cup semifinal thrashing at Manchester City.

It was another chastening day for the Hammers after their 5-0 humbling by Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup last weekend.

The Londoners, 19th in the Premier League, have won just one game since November and pressure continues to build on Allardyce, who was taunted by fans late in the game.

Allardyce said: "It is life isn't it when you are not doing well - you get stick as a manager and I am getting stick at the moment.

"That is the way goes, that is the way this job is you take it on the chin and get on with it.

"You can understand it when they travel all this way, and the team gets beaten heavily, that they are going to give you some criticism.

"But we are not the first team to get beaten here by many, many goals and we won't be the last having seen Manchester City through this season."
