West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce hopes Andy Carroll can be inspired by the prospect of joining England in the 2014 World Cup.
Carroll is working his way back from a heel injury.
Allardyce said: "We have several international players in out squad. Andy Carroll will want to get back fit as quickly as possible and at the back of his mind think the World Cup is coming and want to get into that squad.
"Whether anyone else is good enough we will have to see. It is up to them on how they perform between now and the end of the season. It's about those players delivering on a regular basis.
"When that happens you have to be noticed by Roy Hodgson and his staff. Hopefully we will get some of those players to catch the eye."
