West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce has dismissed claims his team is 'long ball'.
Allardyce wrote in the London Evening Standard: "We're all trying to make West Ham better, to help the team produce better results and become a greater force in the Premier League.
"Incidentally, against Sampdoria last weekend we made 512 passes. I know that won't stop the accusations of long-ball being wheeled out again at some stage but I thought I'd just mention it.
"We all want to achieve victory by playing open, attractive football but at the end of the day it is still about results and if I don't achieve those, I will get sacked.
"I'm hoping we can win and entertain our supporters, especially at home because then they will go home happy, take the wife out for a meal or have a couple of pints."
