West Ham boss Allardyce has sympathy for Fulham's Jol

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce has sympathy for Martin Jol after beating his Fulham 3-0 yesterday.

Jol is now favourite to be the next manager sacked in the Premier League.

"You cannot be in our game feeling without anything but for each other when things are not going our way," the former Bolton, Newcastle and Blackburn manager said.

"It is a lonely old job when you are trying to find the right solution to poor results.

"It is one where people don't really understand what you go through because they have never experienced it.

"Only talking to ourselves and pulling ourselves through, and obviously the people that you interact with on a regular basis, can help.

"You're in a position where you take all the heat and you've got to take all the heat because it is your job.

"If it is going bad, it is your responsibility no matter whether you've got injuries, no matter whether you should have signed this one or that one before the deadline.

"It is no excuse in the end, even though it is an excuse for not getting the result everybody expects."
