West Ham boss Allardyce happy Man City's Kompany let off

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce insists Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany deserved to be cleared from his red card yesterday.

Big Sam was glad to see Kompany's harsh red card for a tackle on Jack Wilshere during Manchester City's 2-0 win at Arsenal on Sunday has been rescinded.

Allardyce said: "The Kompany tackle was a perfect one - and I'm an expert. No, seriously, FIFA and UEFA are not experts in tackling.

"He timed that tackle perfectly and he was in perfect control.

"The person who was more out of control was Wilshere, that's what made it look so bad.

''So, yes, for leaping in two feet off the floor like the Karate Kid then send them off - but not for proper tackles.

"Unfortunately referees today are lumbered with inept rules.''
