West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce is happy to have the backing of co-chairman David Gold.

Gold took to Twitter this week to dismiss links with Paolo di Canio.

"I would imagine that because Paolo Di Canio is such a favourite there are bound to be links," said Allardyce.

"I don't tweet. I just stick to talking to my staff, emails and texting. I think social media is for everybody else and not me.

"The chairman likes to communicate with his fans and there's nothing wrong with that."
