West Ham boss Allardyce desperate not to lose Newcastle target Tomkins

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce is determined to keep hold of defender James Tomkins.

Allardyce believes the club will make a big mistake if they sell highly-rated defender Tomkins to Newcastle United in January.

Allardyce said: "There is no intention to sell James Tomkins, as far as I am concerned. We would be committing suicide if we sold him at this moment."
