West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce has confirmed he was in Germany last week.
Allardyce used the time to cast his eye over £8m-rated Nuremberg striker Josep Drmic in their 4-1 defeat to Wolfsburg.
The 21-year-old Switzerland striker, has scored 16 goals this season and is regarded as one of the Bundesliga's brightest talents, attracting interest from top-flight rivals Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton.
Allardyce said: "I was at Nuremberg versus Wolfsburg - the sausages were great.
"They got beat quite comfortably so in terms of that particular player, you wouldn't be able to judge him on that particular game because they got battered."
