West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce is backing Chelsea for the Premier League title. Allardyce wrote in the London Evening Standard: "Who do I fancy for the Premier League title this season? My money is on Chelsea.
"Jose Mourinho may have come out last season and said his team weren't ready for the title but I still believe they threw it away. The same feeling could haunt Brendan Rodgers. The priority, as always, is to win but my impression was that the pre- occupation with style of play took over a bit at the back end of the season.
"Manchester City will go close but it is difficult to win the title in two successive seasons - only Manchester United and Chelsea have done it before them in the Premier League era."
