West Ham boss Allardyce challenges strikers to keep Carroll on bench

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce believes Andy Carroll will struggle to get back into his starting XI.

Allardyce wants his stand-in strikers to keep performing well enough that the big striker can't get back in the team.

Allardyce said: "Carlton Cole and Marco Borriello played a dual role in Saturday's superb 2-0 win at Aston Villa.

"For me, what about this? Andy Carroll gets over his suspension, West Ham haven't lost a game and won most of them, and Andy Carroll has to sit on the bench.

"That would be nice."
