West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce insists Adrian is a match for Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea.

Adrian goes up against Arsenal's front line today as Hammers chase a seventh home win of the season.

Allardyce said: "Adrian has been just as outstanding recently as De Gea and has helped us acquire the results we have been achieving.

"They look very similar as well in terms of their body structure and the way they keep goal. I have been extremely pleased that we managed to get him on a free transfer.

"I am also really pleased with the way he has settled into this league and the way he has performed consistently. That is the word.

"He has consistently been very, very good since he made his way into the side on a regular basis."
