West Ham United management insist Gianfranco Zola knew there was no January cash available before he signed with the club.

West Ham vice-chairman Asgeir Fridgeirsson, said: "There is no money coming into the operation from the owner. This was crystal clear from the beginning. Zola was always happy with that arrangement."

West Ham are now officially for sale, with Fridgeirsson saying the club have 'more than five but fewer than 10' interested parties.
