West Ham United are stepping up their bid for Aston Villa fullback Nicky Shorey.
The 29-year-old is expected to join Fulham after spending the last few months there on loan but West Ham are willing to make an offer.
Fulham boss Roy Hodgson wants to hang onto Shorey as Paul Konchesky eyes a move away to Birmingham City.
