West Ham United academy chief Tony Carr admits they're always losing players to rival Premiership clubs.
Carr revealed: "At West Ham, we lost Kieran Richardson to Manchester United and Liam Ridgewell to Aston Villa when they were on our books as schoolboys and we weren't happy about it but we did receive compensation.
"We had John Terry on our books as a kid and lost him to Chelsea but didn't receive a penny, although when we signed Jermain Defoe as a kid from Charlton, they were angry but were compensated.
"No system is perfect but this one isn't bad."
