West Brom's Spanish midfielder Borja Valero says England's best young players would benefit from a spell playing abroad.
He said: "I have not seen how very young players train here or the way they are taught in Britain but in Spain it is very important that they work on their technical ability from a very early age.
''The emphasis it to take the focus away from winning and competition and to concentrate on all the technical abilities that the game involves."
Borja believes that it is not too late to learn and that British players could improve their game if they were to go and play abroad.
"There is something to be gained from going to play abroad, like Beckham, but it really is the teaching and developing technical ability from an early age that is important.
"I played with Beckham at Real Madrid and I think it added something more to his game playing in Spain."
