Filipe Teixeira was delighted to make his Premiership debut for West Brom in yesterday's defeat at Liverpool.

The Portuguese midfielder told the club's website: "I'm very disappointed because we wanted to get a good result.

"We knew it would be very difficult because Liverpool are a great team.

"After seven months out, I am happy to be back. But I would have liked it to be under different circumstances.

"It's very good to play in this league because this is the biggest league in the world."

Baggies boss Tony Mowbray said: "Filipe is unproven in the Premier League.

"We've seen what he can do in the Championship. Now he has to try and do it against better players in this league. The jury is out and we'll wait and see."
