On-loan Norwich City midfielder Graham Dorrans hasn't given up hopes of a Scotland call-up after being left out of Gordon Strachan's squad of late.
The 28-year old has experienced a resurgence in his career since his loan move to Carrow Road under manager Alex Neil and is set to make his move to the Canaries permanent.
Dorrans revealed that he has held talks with Strachan regarding any future call-ups and suggests there is an understanding with the national team manager.
"If Scotland happens, it happens," he said. "It's tough away for the trips and not being involved because any player wants to play.
"If I am going away and playing, great. If not, it's hard being away from family for 10 days or two weeks.
"I spoke with the manager about it and he understands that. He's rang me a couple of times and if I'm going away, I'm going to play.
"I want to go and he wants me to go. If I'm not going to play, he understands my position and it's been good."
