According to reports from the Ivory Coast, Abdoulaye Meite is close to joining either Newcastle or Hull City on a year-long loan from West Brom. The defender is keen to play first-team football ahead of the World Cup next summer.
"There are contacts but lets wait and see what will happen," the 28 year old told Skysports.com.
"I can't say anything yet. I need to play if I want to be involved in the World Cup."
